Mr. Sense will be missed

Remarkable Obituary

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Mr. Common Sense. Mr.Sense Had been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such value lessons ask knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn't always fair. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge).

His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate, teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch, and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Mr. Sense declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student; but, could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Finally, Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, she spilled a bit in her lap, and was awarded a huge financial settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son Reason. He is survived by two stepbrothers; My Rights and Ima Whiner.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on; if not, join the majority and do nothing.

This was not written by me. It just showed up in my email one day. I did not know Common Sense really well.
Did you try the cows! link on the sidebar yet?

Do you know where we send flowers? I was actually thinking of making to a donation to the Association for Not Being an Idiot in lieu.

Love the cow site! I could play with that for hours.

A better idea is to buy yourself some flowers. The love note is optional. I love the cow site too. I have a hard time resisting it. Did you see I added a picture of George on the 5 questions post?
I borrowed that pic from a fan site (is that bad?) and coloringbooked it. I am hoping more people answer those questions.

I just checked out that George pic you added - very kewl! Colourbooking sure looks fun! (and I have no issues with borrowing pics - isn't that what Google Images is for?)

I normally disagree with commen sense arguements but in the context in which you have portrayed it here I have to digress.

Common sense is only common sense when people have the same background, understanding and cultural experiences.

IE: Don't stick your tongue on a piece of frozen steel. If your from Africa and have neer seen Snow well it's not common.

I haven't checked out your cow thing but Wayne over at http://tablemountains.blogspot.com/
Has one were you get to click a red dot I dare you.

Thank you nl-expat. I tried the red dot and now no other coloured dot will do. I will think about linking...

NL-Expat, I have been thinking 'bout your answer.
What is the difference between common sense with common knowledge? Common knowledge in Montreal is you don't turn right on a red light (it's also the law). It may be common sense to turn if there are no cars coming, but tell that one to the cops when they give you a ticket.
Kids have to be told not to lick the metal post in winter, after some smart kid dares them... it's more of a common knowledge thing. If they don't listen they learn.
