Theodore's farewell.
My niece is a huge fan of Jose Theodore of The Montreal Canadiens. She has his pictures, posters and paraphernalia plastered all over her room. Her favorite shirt is a Habs jersey with autographs all over it. She has followed the Montreal Canadiens and more specifically Jose's every move. It looks like she will be moving her adoration to Colorado. I was shocked but not surprised when George Stroumboulopoulos of The Hour (who is also a Habs fan) first broke the news on Wednesdays night show in Montreal. My first thought were for her. She is a good kid, busy with CEGEP, watching hockey, playing soccer, and work. It seems heartless to trade her hero to a place so far away. How is she going to catch his games now? My sympathies are with her and all Theo's fans.
Update April 6th 2006
Well she is adjusting just fine. The Canadiens are doing much better. They are looking more like a winning team. She showed me pictures of her with other Canadien hockey players. (I will try to include them when she gets around to sending them to me.) I think if those players try to console her they better watch out for my Brother. Warning: she is only 17 and her father is very protective!!

There are more pics for you over on my latest post.

Jose who?
He as Patrick Roy did will find better things in Colorodo.
I was heart broken when Martin Gelinas left Calgary Flames for Florida Panthers.
And I sure miss Villi Nemenen (I know I just butchered that spelling), formerly of the Flames.
Taylor's fav Team is Colarado- so she's thrilled and chuckling at her cousin's loss
One cousins loss is another cousins gain I guess. If there is going to be a family feud about this, it best be fought with pillows!
Hey Barbara. I read your blog that i got off the hour website. It's pretty cool that your blog is posted on the site. I'm glad Theo got traded, the team is much better off. Jason
Just before the last time Les Canadien traded a goalie to Colorado we won the Stanley Cup. I lived one block from the 'old' Forum at that time. I saw from my balconey and from the roof all the riot action. Good times!! Everyone high fiving each other, honking their horns, jumping for joy and screaming. Not to mention breaking stuff. We have not seen that since Patrick Roy left.
The Habs need to prove it first to the fans that we are better off.
i wish theo nothing but the best
Winning against The Leafs is not proof enough. I wish Theo all the best too!
this is barbs niece who loves Theo. TO all of u out there who are happy theo was traded i say this: its a blessing in disguise for all parties involved in the abishear- theodore trade. Theo escaped the heavy media invading his privacy and now he can fully concentrate on his hockey. david abishear is now on a team with the greatest legacy in the history of the NHL and now he is playing some of the greatest hockey of his career. I love Theo and eve though hes not playing his best hockey , to all you Theo haters, i say give the guy a break and focus on the game and not the controversies. PPS- GO HABS GO / GO AVS GO!!
I LOVE THEO FOREVER NO MATTER WHAT TEAM HE PLAYS FOR!!!!
