Weekend weeds.

I am trying not to let this cold I have slow me down. Yesterday I did some weeding. I weeded half the garden 'til the bees told me that I better not be pulling out more of their favorite flowers... They didn't quite put it in those words but I got the message.

My next task was to mow the lawn. I found the mower, then I was looking for the extention cord... Could not find one. In fact the mower had no cord. Duh! I have never used a power mower before. I did not even know how to start it. I asked the kids and they did not know how to start it either. I was not going to let a silly mower that I knew had to work somehow, stop me. A red button on the side was my first clue. Too bad I had not found it before I pulled the rip cord 100 times... Push the red button 3 times then pull the cord. Got it! One more task down.

Next little thing was to drive M to his soccer finals. I was not sure that there would be parking so I dropped him off with no promise to watch the game, but I found parking and witnessed the final match. Good job M! It's not easy being goal keeper. His mother , my sister soon joined me in watching the match. She had been off on a wine tasting tour of Niagara all day. I am happy she had the chance to do that.

Today on my agenda... Take M bowling then go visit my grandparents grave in Newmarket... Sounds like fun eh?

Update: I not only found Newmarket (after almost taking a few wrong turns) I found my grandparents headstone right where my father said it would be. I had a nice conversation with them, then I took the long way back and enjoyed the scenic route along Bayview.

Sounds like a blockbuster day!

You're still able to root around in your garden? Sheesh! Here in Alberta, many places are experiencing 10C temps or lower and some have even received snow. No more gardening for us I think.

I hope you didn't get stung!

Cordless mowers are the only way to go. I have run over the cord too many times in the past, or just gotten supremely annoyed at it. I'll take the red button anyday.

sWeeding is a pretty satisfying job well done. Though once you get started it is hard to stop - lucky you had those bees to keep you in hand!

Your welcome sis.
The weather in Toronto this weekend is beautiful. Speaking of bees, all the motorcyclists are out in full force enjoying the handful of good riding days left. I hear it's going down about 10 degrees for the week. I think there is still time to garden though. It's next month I go back to Montreal to get my snow tires put on, but Torontonians keep telling me I won't need them...
I'll be ready...
