Taking lessons

Well it was only one half hour lesson then some practice sessions.
I learned to play pool yesterday.
I have played pool before but with little skill or luck for that matter.
My sister and I went out to a night of pool lessons. I have to say I had a lot of fun and my game has improved quite a bit.

Saturday night I am going to play whirly ball again, with my sister and her friend. I think I have the hang of the whirly ball bumper car control, I just need more practice hitting the target with the ball. You remember whirly ball? A cross between bumper cars and lacrosse.
Ok neither activity is an Olympic sport but it is a great way to meet new people and make friends in a city like Toronto.

You gotta be brave, go out there and just meet people.

I can do without the pool but that whirly ball bumper car game sounds like my cup of tea. My father tried to teach me to play pool. He kept saying, "It's just math. Come on you're good at math." I did not know what the heck he was talking about. So now I stick to shuffle board and ping-pong.

Toccata pool is about lines... I think of it as drawing a line from the pcket you want to get it in to the ball you want to hit. That line, picture it going thu the ball, indicates where, on the ball, you want to hit it with your ball...
If you are in Toronto, Rinx is the place to play whirly ball.

We used to have a pool table that Jerry's parents made us take when we left Ontario, and at first we though it would be great, but it took up the entire basement, and the only time it was used was when Eva and her friend beheaded Barbies on it.

Was there enough room around the pool table to play the game?
Or was it like the Seinfeld episode where the pool table was almost as big as the room?
Making barbie sacifices on the pool table seems like a waste of good felt.
Rack 'em up I will come over and play you a game. If you don't have enough billiard balls we can use those barbie heads...

That would make an interesting picture.
Kees would you like a game of barbie head pool?

hahahhaha... love the barbie story. my friend had a pool table when we were growing up and we always played barbie on the table.

i love pool. used to play it all the time but i haven't played in awhile. my short attention span usually gets in the way.

Well there was enough room to play, but no room for anything else, which is why we eventually got rid of the table.
Barbie beheadings then occured elsewhere.
